Sector Murol / Chambon-sur-Lac offers fishing practice in both lakes and rivers:
- Lake Chambon (2nd category), 60 hectares large with a maximum depth which does not exceed 4 meters, making fishing – specially in a boat (electric motor allowed) – several species such as perch, pike, the carp or fish for frying possible.
- Fishing pontoon accessible for people with reduced mobility near the Eastern beach at Murol.
- Fishing ‘carp’s by night’ is no longer allowed.
- Couze Chambon (1st category) is split into two distinct areas separated by the lake. Torrents and brown trout upstream (to flush them out, between 1000 and 1500 meters, the toc preferably without forgetting the grasshopper in summer), Large River with varied population downstream (high minnows and studs – the spinning remains a Technique widely used for trout).
In the waters of the second category, fishing is allowed all year, except for pike fishing or salmon, which have specific periods of closing and pike fishing and pike perch is allowed from 1 January unto the last Sunday of January and from May 1 to December 31 (included).
The carp fishing at night is not allowed.
